City Club
Fresh out of college, Matthew Weil came up with a concept for a restaurant. The nameless place felt something like the modern version of Xanadu. Charles Foster Kane's mansion in the movie "Citizen Kane." It wouldn't be quite that big, of course, but it would be quite a bit more happening.Fast-forward a few years, and Weil's vision has came to fruition in the form of City Club, the 195-seat restaurant that opened March 1 on Ogden Avenue in Naperville.City Club is in the building that used to house the Cucina Roma restaurant. And it doesn't much resemble its former self."We wanted it to look like an upscale great room in a wealthy tycoon's mansion, " said Weil, who co-owns the restaurant with his sister Steffanie. " And we also wanted to come up with a clubby feel from the 1940's."
